On Oct. 11, students, faculty and parents at Colorado Springs Christian School of Woodland Park gathered at the school for a ribbon-cutting celebration launching its new playground facility.  During the school's two years of residence at its current location, students have been without a playground.

Becky Duncan, CSCS's PTO president, said, "This has been a real learning experience for the children. Their patience has been rewarded, and their excitement about the equipment is very gratifying to witness."

Duncan credits the Woodland Park community and a hard-working PTO for bringing the project to fruition.  Woodland Park residents supported three indoor flea markets which raised funds for the playground, and the CSCS community worked from May to August to complete the endeavor.

"Nine of our dads braved a windy and cold Saturday to install the equipment and saved CSCS $6,000 in installation costs," said Duncan.  She also noted the donation of labor and supplies from Double M Concrete and Woodland Park Landscaping.
