Dr. Roland F. DeRenzo has served as the Superintendent of Schools of Colorado Springs Christian Schools, Inc. (CSCS) since July 2000. Dr. DeRenzo is also the President of Handprints Early Education Centers, Inc., which has over 150 students from infants to Pre-Kindergarten. In 2002, Dr. DeRenzo, along with the CSCS Board of Directors, opened a satellite campus in nearby Woodland Park, Colorado named CSCS of Woodland Park. In 2004, a beautiful $3 million building was purchased and renovated and now houses nearly 60 students enrolled from kindergarten through fifth grade. Prior to moving to Colorado in 2000, Dr. DeRenzo was privileged to be involved in Christian education and ministry at Plymouth Christian Academy (PCA) and Calvary Church in Canton, Michigan for 22 years. In his early years at PCA, he served as a physical education teacher and athletic director. After receiving his master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling, he became the Guidance Director at PCA, and then was promoted to high school Principal. The last fourteen years in Michigan, Dr. DeRenzo was Superintendent of PCA’s pre-school through twelfth grade school. While Superintendent, he also served as Executive Pastor of the founding church, Calvary Baptist. In 1995, he was named Senior Pastor of the church while retaining the responsibilities of being the Superintendent of the Academy until God called Dr. DeRenzo to the present ministry in Colorado. Dr. DeRenzo has a B.S. in Education from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana, a M.A. in Guidance and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, a Master’s degree in Theology from International Seminary, and in 1990, an earned doctorate in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Florida. Roland met his wife, Sally, while both attended Grace College. They have been married for over 40 years and enjoy working together in ministry. They have a grown son and daughter. Dr. DeRenzo teaches Leadership courses at Colorado Christian University as an affiliate instructor of graduate and undergraduate studies at the Colorado Springs campus. While in Michigan, he also served as adjunct professor at Michigan Theological Seminary in Plymouth, Michigan. The past nine seasons, he has been privileged to serve as the chaplain for the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the triple A team for the Colorado Rockies baseball team. Beginning with the spring 2015 season, he has accepted the chaplaincy of the Milwaukee Brewers triple A team, which will now be located in Colorado Springs. Dr. DeRenzo also serves on various local boards and committees and is a national speaker and consultant on leadership development, team building and education issues.
Diane Meeter is our Executive Director of Academic Services. Diane received her undergraduate degree in English-Secondary Education, and has taught in Texas, California, and now Colorado. She received her Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010 at Colorado Christian University. She started as a teacher in the middle school and the past several years she has been the Middle School Principal/Academic Program Coordinator at CSCS. Diane has had a heart for middle school students almost as long as she can remember. It was in middle school that she consciously dedicated herself to service to the Lord. She has a vision for seeing young people become strong followers of Christ. She is also our International Program Director at CSCS. She and her husband have 2 daughters and one grandchild.
Shanna Seelye is our Chief Financial Officer in the Business office. She is a certified public accountant and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science in Accounting. Shanna and her husband, Cam, enjoy spending time with their family and pets.
Ken came to CSCS in 2012 with a background in Educational Technology. Ken has a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Technology from the University of Melbourne Australia. Under Ken\’s leadership CSCS has continued to develop Technology Infrastructure, and Integration. Recent projects for his staff have included kicking off an online learning program, developing a new web site, increasing Technology based instruction, and improving Internet services while keeping up with ever-increasing demands in hardware and software configurations.
J. Mason Young enters his 28th year in education as he has taught many courses from kindergarten PE to college study skills. He has been a part of CSCS for 22 of those years. He is now serving as the high school principal. Mason loves to see students develop a biblical worldview as they make their Christian faith their own. He has a Bachelor’s degree from McPherson College and an M. Ed. in Administration from Regent University. All three of his adult children graduated from CSCS. He is very excited about the new chapter in his CSCS career.
Mr. Chappy Watties will begin serving as our Interim Middle School Principal for the 2016-2017 school year. Mr. Watties has distinguished himself as a Christian School principal for 3 years in Southern California prior to joining the military and a teacher with 7 years of experience, 3 of those years have been at CSCS. He served our nation with 24 years of active duty service. His military service years include 4 years in the USMC, where he was meritoriously promoted 3 times. The remaining 20 years, he served as a chaplain in the USAF where he received several awards including “Air Force Chaplain of the Year” in 2004 while serving as USAF Academy Cadet Chaplain.
Mr. Watties has clearly demonstrated that both his call and commitment to the mission of CSCS is unwavering and steadfast. Mr. Watties brings to the leadership team additional strength in the area of pastoral care and leadership. He has completed his Master Degree in Leadership while in the USAF and he also completed a Master of Divinity Degree at Azusa Pacific University in California. Again, the entire leadership team and staff welcomes Mr. Warren “Chappy” Watties to his new role and believe that God has prepared him for such a time in the life of CSCS.
Bobbi Young has dedicated her life to Christian education and has spent 15 of her 19 years in education focusing on teaching in Christian schools. During her career in education, she has taught everything from math and science to English and history at the secondary level. She has enjoyed being part of the CSCS family for 13 of those 19 years, and she is now serving as the Curriculum Director at CSCS. Bobbi loves building relationships with kids and helping them to find and develop a relationship with Jesus that is their own and can stand the test of time. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and a M. Ed. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Regis University. She will complete her doctorate, Ed. D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, at Walden University in the fall of 2015.
CSCS Elementary Principal Doug Bray enjoys seeing elementary students learn, grow, and mature. He has been Principal at CSCS Elementary since 1984. He enjoys being involved with the students in many capacities. You can find him coaching one of our elementary wrestling teams each winter. Doug received his teaching degree from Fort Hays State University in Kansas in 1977. He completed his Masters degree in Elementary School Administration in 1982. His first years of teaching were spent in lower elementary, first and second grades. Doug and his wife, Tammy, have four adult children. Each of them spent their school careers, K-12, at CSCS before going on to college careers and beyond. Doug is also enjoying being a Grandpa to his grandchildren.
Mike Aragon grew up mostly in Albuquerque, NM. His mom (originally from Barcelona, Spain) was a piano teacher and artist, and his dad was a secret service agent. Their history and adventures have made for some exciting stories! In 1983, Mr. Aragon graduated from the Albuquerque Academy, and pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University. After working as an engineer at a power company in TX, he moved to the Chicago area to get a Master of Divinity at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School . . . AND . . . he met his wife Carolyn! Carolyn was originally from the Denver area, and spent her summers working at Camp Elim (Woodland Park). Over the last 20 years, Mr. Aragon has served as a Youth Pastor, Missionary, Professor, and Church Planter. The past couple of years, in addition to pastoring and teaching for Pikes Peak Community College and Colorado Christian University, it has been his pleasure to also serve as a Spanish/PE teacher at CSCS-WP. In the summer of 2014, Mr. Aragon added the administrative role of principal to his Spanish & PE classes. He believes that CSCS-WP is a great school with an excellent Christ-centered, enthusiastic staff. He enjoys serving and teaching with them. Mr. Aragon believes that CSCS-WP is a hidden gem in the state of Colorado, because if its wonderful atmosphere, staff and families. His goal is to continue the tradition of excellent education, from a Christ-centered, biblical perspective for lifelong service.

John has been involved in security for over 30 years. He started in security in 1984 with a contract service in Chicago, moving into the Chicago Public Schools in 1993 as a public safety officer. While associated with Living Word Christian Center in Chicago, John took Bible school courses through correspondence. John was invited to move to Colorado Springs after attending a conference here in 1998. After he moved to the Springs, he met his lovely wife, Risa, and they married in 2000. John was the Director of Security at the Sheraton Hotel from 2000 until 2006 when the hotel changed hands. John then went to work for USAA as a part-time Physical Security Specialist and with Falcon D49 as a lead Security Officer at Sky View Middle School. John is attending Colorado State University-Pueblo where he will be completing his bachelor’s degree in Sociology after one more class.
