High School Chapels
High School Chapels
Philosophy
Believing that all believers are called to minister in some way in the Body of Christ and to the world, the Student Ministries Department will promote, teach and encourage a ministry mentality and ministry methods to as many students at CSCS as possible. We will, however, provide focused opportunities for students to actively ministry to their fellow students, the Church and the world. While involved in ministry we will provide training in leadership, ministry methods, strategy and Kingdom thinking that will enable them to minister more effectively in the ministries to which they are called today and prepare them with invaluable ministry skills and experiences for the rest of their lives.
Rotation
Our Chapel program provides a regular event which impacts the entire student body as well as the faculty, by challenging and equipping them to live their lives for Jesus Christ. Chapels also provide opportunities for students to lead in a team atmosphere in planning and publicizing chapels, and ministering to fellow students as they participate in recruiting speakers, speaking themselves, or participating in leading worship and other chapel activities.
The format of our chapels will vary from week to week in order to provide a variety of group sizes for student interaction. On a monthly basis, we are planning All Student Body chapels, Class Chapels, and Small Groups. Chapel content will vary from speakers, to worship experiences, small group discussion, inspirational speakers, challenges, controversial topics, and times to sit quietly in the presence of God.
Info Chapels exist as part of our High School Chapel Program to relieve our normal chapels from the many administrative announcements and other longer announcements. Info Chapels are Short Chapels and take place the first of each month .
All School Chapels bring the entire student body together to experience worship and the challenge of a speaker together as a unified group. During All School Chapels, we usually have our chapel band lead us in a few worship songs, then a guest speaker takes the balance of the time to bring us a message.
Worship Chapels. The goal of worship chapels is to provide a pause in our school schedule to listen to God and to hear from Him. During Worship Chapels, either our CSCS Chapel Band or a local youth worship band will lead us in a directed time of worship and prayer.
Class Chapels are designed to provide grade specific teaching to our students. Our guest speakers often include local youth workers whose messages can be specifically tailored to the needs of each class. Occasionally Class Chapel will be dedicated to class meetings.
