SchoolMessenger
SchoolMessenger - Parent Communication
CSCS has signed on with SchoolMessenger, a company that provides notification services for emergency broadcasts and parental outreach communications for K-12 Education. The system is programmed to send email messages and to call the primary home phone number for general notifications. SchoolMessenger will be used to complement our emergency preparedness procedures and to inform parents of school delays, closures or emergency notifications.
The acquisition of the SchoolMessenger system is intended to reinforce our commitment to remain personally connected to parents. We will implement this new system as a multi-phased project.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up for SchoolMessenger?
Parents and guardians do not need to sign up for SchoolMessenger just to receive messages, the basic contact information parents provided at re-enrollment/registration has been added to the system.
What type of messages will I receive from SchoolMessenger?
SchoolMessenger will be used to send everything from snow closure alerts to weekly campus messages and classroom updates. Parents may also receive notices about student's grades and/or progress reports. Most routine messages will be sent through email. Voice messages will be used to draw attention to important messages and emergencies.
Is SchoolMessenger secure?
Your student's information is stored on a secure server and all personal data is sent in an encrypted format. SchoolMessenger will not use any data for disclosure to outside organizations.
A recorded message from the school was delivered to my home phone, I said “hello” and no message played. What should I do?
A recorded wav file will also be sent to your email address. The message can be listened to on any computer.
Can I receive information on my students at a long distance number?
Yes, SchoolMessenger will call long distance numbers. We will not call international numbers.
How long until we can receive text messages?
Our plan is to get the basic information loaded into the system and tested. Once the data is stable, we will work on routine messaging. We are estimating the next phase in this project to be complete in late November.
