CSCS HS Girls and Boys in State Finals

Basketball GirlsPrayingThe Colorado Springs Christian School boys and girls varsity basketball teams competed in Ft. Collins this past weekend for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) state championship tournaments.  The girls team knocked off the higher seeded Longhorns of Basalt in the quarter-finals before falling in a tight game to Faith Christian in the semi-finals.  The boys team defeated Kent Denver in the quarter-finals and then played one of their best games of the year in defeating last year’s state champion, Eaton, in the semi-finals.  Their wonderful run came to an end in dropping the state championship game to Faith Christian despite a gritty and determined effort.  Both boys and girls teams Basketball Boysdisplayed great depth of character and were wonderful representatives of CSCS in their actions on and off the court.  Each team received high praise for their efforts including comments from assistant CHSAA commissioner Bert Borgmann acknowledging the great class and sportsmanship displayed by the boys team and their coaches following the disappointing championship loss.

Each team’s stellar play and exemplary attitude and actions once again show the ability to compete at the highest levels and bring Honor and Glory to God in doing so.
