Cody Klingenberg rushed for 301 yards and scored three touchdowns, including two on defense, to help the Lions secure a 20-17 win Saturday night at St. Mary’s. Because of his performance, Klingenberg is The Gazette’s Athlete of the Week.

You played a huge part in the win over your rival, St. Mary’s, on Saturday. What does a win like that mean for you and the team?

It was the sixth year in a row we beat them. . . . That’s a pretty big challenge. They have never beat the seniors here so we really wanted to beat them.
